The New President and CEO of Valve Automation and Controls

I am very pleased to announce that Jim Reynolds has been appointed as the President and CEO of Valve Automation and Controls effective immediately.

Jim’s many years of experience in the pipe, valve and fitting industry is only exceeded by his tremendous knowledge of valve actuation and valve automation systems. Cal Cardiff will remain as the Chairman of VAC and will continue to work with Jim to provide his valuable assistance and guidance as we work to solidify VAC’s position as the dominant marine and wastewater automation provider in San Diego.

Jim joined VAC not long after the company’s inception in 1993. Prior to the acquisition by W&O Supply, Jim had held the title of Vice President and General Manager at VAC. Jim was responsible for establishing VAC’s industrial sales and also for growing its wastewater automation business. After the acquisition by W&O, Jim worked very hard to merge VAC, Cook Brothers and W&O in San Diego into one office, and to build a cohesive team. During 2003, Jim assisted with the successful start-up of the first two digital control networks in the U.S. marine industry, and now as the President of VAC, he will oversee two more startups in 2004 and many, many more to come in future years. Jim was instrumental in the success of these projects.

During the last year, I have had the privilege of working closely with Jim and I witnessed first-hand, his devotion to customer service, his knowledge of our business and his very honest, no nonsense approach to business situations. On a personal note, I want to thank him for helping me to learn about the valve automation business and for his patience with my steep learning curve. Jim’s expert tutoring helped to strengthen my conviction that we can dominate the marine automation business in the United States and I look forward to his leadership of this critical growth area for VAC and W&O.

Congratulations again Jim and we all look forward to working with you to make VAC even more successful in the years to come.
